Meet Pappy.
Paprika is his full name, but we call him Pappy. What a little fuzzball he was the day he came to live with us! That was October 29. I can’t believe that 5 weeks have past already. Where does the time go?
And he’s already growing up. Way too fast.

Oct 29

Nov 30
See how much he’s changed already? And I can’t make up my mind whether I want him to grow up or stay a kitten forever. Because kitten teeth and claws are very sharp! And I have the scars to prove it.
He plays very, very hard. And then crashes.
And I want to smother him with kisses.
Isn’t that the cutest face you ever saw?
Seems his favorite crashing place is in my lap.
And he can really take over a lap.
And that’s just fine with me.
But when he’s awake…….
He desperately wants Panda to play with him.
He’s always looking for her.
Where are you, Panda? I know you’re down there somewhere?
This basket of bags used to be a Panda hiding place. Not anymore. He finds her wherever she hides.
And he is relentless. Don’t believe me? Check out these videos on YouTube…..
See? Relentless, I tell you, absolutely relentless. Panda is still hissing. But it is mostly half-hearted these days. However I think Panda will also be happy when his baby teeth and claws give way to more adult ones. That aren’t razor-sharp.
Aw, come on, Panda. Play with me.
Pretty please? You know you want to play, don’t ya?
And on rare occasions, I have a two cat lap.
And Panda even crawled in to lay next to him in the top of the cat tree one time. Pappy looks a bit perturbed at her, don’t you think?
Dear Hubby has a hard time riding the stationary bike these days. Because Pappy wants to chase his feet as they go by. Even if he gets knocked on the head, he comes back for more. Can you say relentless? The boy doesn’t give up.
He helps with other things besides quilting too……
Like laundry.
And I totally cleaned out my closet the other day. He helped by knocking over the piles of clothes as fast as I could fold them and stack them. Some helper, isn’t he?
He absolutely loves water. And gets in the sink all the time. What? Water, you say? Is that something running down my forehead?
No glass is safe left sitting around the house.
And you better get a clean one if you’ve left yours sit too long and you have an aversion to cat slobber.
Not only that but you can’t even bathe alone these days. Don’t believe me? Watch this….
Seriously. I was in the tub and he jumped in with me before I even knew what he was doing. And he actually acted a bit perturbed when I handed him out to Mark to dry him off. What a cat! He’s one of a kind, that’s for sure.
My friend, Cathi, in Toronto has a new orange/red kitty too. And she is blogging about him today! I can’t wait to see her pics and hear her tales of Jake. You can read about him too at her Quilt Obsession blog.
Dear Hubby and Pappy are getting along just swell too. We are all happy to be back in Texas.
And I’m especially happy that this sweet little boy has joined our family.
Hugs,
Barb
That is the cutest cat face ever! What a doll!
Adorable! So cute and fun, he’ll keep Panda on her toes and everyone entertained. I’ve heard of cats that liked water but never saw one in action. Thanks for sharing.
Oh. My. Goodness. He is precious! I know he will provide you all with hours of entertainment! That last photo is the best…almost makes me want another kitten. Almost. And I have never seen a cat that liked to be in water!! Oh, yes, run that faucet and let him drink, but PUT him INTO the water?? Amazing. Poor Panda, she will have to adjust to not being an only cat. But I think Pappy will win her over! Thanks for sharing!!
He is so cute! I love red Cats! They really have strong caracters. Poor Panda, no more quiet naps and meals for him but they seem to get along just fine.
What a lovely family you have and such great pics! Thanks for posting, Bonnie
He is adorable! He looks like one of our outside kitties that I have dubbed Scotchie.
There is nothing like a little red tabby to add some spice to the household! He is so adorable – but you know how much I love red kitties!
Pappy is absolutely adorable! I really enjoy seeing the pictures…of all of you!

Hi, I hopped to you from Cathi, after reading about her new red fellow. Your videos are super, and there is something so very special about red kitties. Greetings form Jean. NZ.
He just steals your heart away. What a cutie
As always a roller coaster of fun and mayhem. Thanks Barb, our boys send their best.

Welcome to your Pappy! Cathi sent me here to check him out and he is adorable! He reminds me of our Jasper several years ago. Loved all of your cat photos.
What amazing photos of Pappy…maybe you have a new calling as a cat (animal) photographer! Just adorable!!
He is so cute!!!! Three kittens adopted us in May. So we have 3 adults and three kittens who have stolen our hearts.
Okay, that kitten is hilarious, Barb!!! He is a CHARACTER!!!!! 🙂
Love, love kittens! What a wonder that Pappy likes water so much! We too have an orange and white kitty, and a black & white. Ours are Flame and Raven. Nice to meet you and the fur-kids.
