Hi! I’m Barb and I’m a Quilter. “Hi, Barb.” Quilting is a huge addiction. All quilters understand that. It takes over your home and your life. I am now a blogger too. My friends made me do it. They’ve been after me a long time and I finally succumbed. I have a feeling it could take over my home and my life too!
The banner picture on my blog is my Quilting Bee, Just Say Sew. We’ve been quilting together for about 11 years. The picture is at our April 2010 Retreat in Mt. Calm, Texas. Some of us are even in our pajamas – we took the picture far enough away that you couldn’t tell….. or the fact that most of us don’t have any makeup on. That’s what our retreats are all about. Quilting, eating and back to nature. In the midst of beautiful wildflowers!
I also love cats. Quilts and cats go together in my book. And in my blog. You’ll meet Boo and Miss Kitty, my dear hubby’s cat. He brought her home with him after a 14 month job in Tulsa. She doesn’t like me. She doesn’t seem to know that I’m a big huge cat lover! Some of my friends think it’s funny that she runs from me. I, however, am not laughing. Perhaps Miss Kitty is. And I’m certain that Boo is……laughing, I mean. UPDATE: Miss Kitty is warming up to me. She actually sits on my lap occasionally now, but it has to be her idea. Even though I feed her treats every day. What a cat!
I hope that you enjoy my blog!

I got it and I like the first font the best:-)
Hey, howdy, and who MADE you do this blog.

Greetings, I like your website. This is a great site and I wanted to post a little note to let you know, nice job! Thanks Tammy
Melissa Murray is my daughter-in-law and she sent me a link to your blog. I’m a quilter, a pilot, and a cat lover. We have 4 cats, but one of them, Junior is a big black cat who also loves to lay on my quilts-in-progress. We’ve been to Oshkosh, we have a motor home, and I’m chair of my Quilter’s Guild quilt show this year. Seems like we have a lot in common. However, I live in North Carolina, not Texas. Next time we visit Rodney and Melissa, we’ll try to look you up. Just wanted you to know that I love your blog! By the way, this is the first time I’ve ever posted to a blog. Kandy Murray
Thanks for posting your blog URL on the DJ list. I enjoyed reading it and will check back periodically to see what you quilting chickies are up to. Sounds like you have ‘sum fun’ down there in TX… I’m in WA. Keep up the good work… great blog.
I’m going to check the “Send me site updates” box and see if that helps….?
Hey Barb,
I was just browsing your pictures on your blog and noticed the scarf that Nancy was holding up. Any chance you have the pattern to this? Just wondering if you would be willing to share. Just let me know at the TVQG meeting this week! Thanks!

Hi, Barb! I met you a few months ago at Franklin Park when we were both touring. Enjoyed the lunch and visit with you, albeit brief. I know I’m going to enjoy reading your blog! Life has been too crazy lately. But I want to start sewing again. Alas, I love quilts, have a few, but may NEVER find enough time for the fabulous endeavor of quilting. No, I first need to do some quickie home decorating-type sewing such as curtains and throw pillows. My dressmaking shears and pinking shears are all dull! I’ve had the hardest time trying to find a reputable person or place to take them to for sharpening and then thought of you–surely you and/or your fellow quilters have some recommendations in this area??? Thanks for any help, including what a reasonable price range is (as I have a lot of scissors)!
Greetings from Boston! I am enjoying your blog. I am also an rabid quilter and baseball fan. In fact, your Rangers are currently visiting my Red Sox. I must admit that if I did not love my Sox so much, I would love the Rangers! Was just at a game in Boston and watched Josh Hamilton spend pre-game time signing and taking photos with fans. Good guy. Enjoy the rest of the season! Will hope our boys of summer meet up in October!
If you would like to see my baseball themed quilts, please check out my blog on WordPress.
Hi Barb, it’s Shawn Frazier! I love your pics of our show!! I was not able to take a lot of pics of the ballroom itself, and it does look amazing! (I was a little busy, as you may know!) Would you be able to share those pics with me, so that I can post them on our BCQG Facebook and maybe the HCC facebook to sort of show off the venue? It really did look beautiful and I’d love to share it!
Thanks so much, I’m so glad you captured such good pictures!
